I lived close by New Lakeview over 15 years ago and was a frequent diner both in and for take-out. I recently moved back to the area and was happy to see that nothing had changed. (unfortunately not even the pink walls) Although the decor leaves something to be desired the food does not fall short. I rate their Singapore noodles as the best I have ever tasted. (better than in Singapore!) The prices are low and servings are generous. The won-ton soup is excellent and they feature fresh crab dishes with a variety of sauces. Lunch hour is busy with short wait for a table but the specials run to 3pm. Read more

This place has the best egg rolls I've eaten in Vancouver. I've been ordering take-out from here for many years, it's not so much a dine-in restaurant. So a bunch of us finally headed down to the Blue Canoe for dinner. A few had been there before, and a few hadn't, but we always go and critique places together. Absolutely loved the atmosphere, not a detail was spared in the design of the restaurant. The real tester is of course the food, and it did not disappoint. They've thrown together some amazing flavours and clearly taken some chances that have worked out in their favour. The Drummettes....I don't eat chicken wings anywhere, but these ones were in a soy sauce of some sort that was fantastic!! The BBQ Salmon was probably the best salmon that I've ever had at a restaurant....not overcooked like most places. So much flavour. That was it for me, but others had a wide variety of food and rave reviews on all counts. A few questions on the sides that they came with, but generous portions and smiles all around.
