They started us off with warm dinner rolls - good, but nothing special. All entrees come with all you can eat fries, and they are delicious. Crunchy but not too deep-fried. Our meals also came with perfectly steamed green beans. Three out of four steaks were perfect - one rare, two medium rare. My rare steak was one of the better I've had - it was red through the middle but it was still hot when it got to the table! The fourth steak (medium) was a bit tough. Read more

The food is amazing. Portions are considered large comparing to the average Montreal French bistro. Good place for a date. Also good atmosphere for a small 5a7 (there is a large long table for 10-12pp at the back near the bar). The only negative is that the service is average. The waitress is not that attentive or customer-centric. For example, she would list the daily special without mentioning the prices, unless prompted. If you are looking for the best the Peking duck in Montreal, you can find it here at Mon Nan! Been going here for years and they never disappoint! If you've never had Peking duck before, ask for the duck with 3 preparations. You will get a duck soup, the peking duck which is rice crepes wrapped with duck skin and then, the last preparation is with the duck meat. It's a stir fry of duck meat with veggies. The environment is your typical Chinese restaurant but the only reason you would go there is the food. The V.I.P. fried chicken is one of the, if not, the best fried chicken you ever ate in your life. It's crunchy and juicy, leaving you the feeling of wanting more.
