Took my 3 grown kids for lunch today. Food was delicious- so fresh and the portions were huge! Service was great as usual. It was nice that due to Covid the restaurant was quieter. I realize I didn’t notice the voice calling out the orders over the intercom today. Maybe they have done away with that. I hope so. A better family restaurant. I like the White Spot, a lot! Solid menu with selections varying from delicious junk food (eg gourmet poutine) to kids food (Pirate Pack) to healthy choices to satisfying comfort food. Decent wine and beer menu, if a tad limited. Superlative pies and gooey desserts. The coffee is known city wide as "White Spot coffee." Distinctive (no, not bad, distinctive). My go to spot for an economical, satisfying repast.

Hold the bacon! If you're a bacon fiend, The Village may not be for you but they certainly make up for it with their smoked meat. Smoked meat bennys with a tasty hollandaise, a bagel with lox, and tasy coffee rounded out our Sunday breakfast. We were able to walk right in but a crowd started to form shortly after, so arrive earlier if you don't want to wait. There's limited seating but the restaurant is airy and casual. Grab a seat outside if it's a nice day and enjoy quiant Estevan Village - they even provide blankets for those chilly days!

What a wonderful place for lunch this past weekend! We sat on the small, yet sunny patio out front and loved it. The Gooey Cheese Griller sandwich, the vegetarian sandwich, the spinach salad and french onion soup were wonderful. So yummy! And on Saturday's sangria pitchers are on special...and they were good! Not too juice tasting/sweet like most other places.
The only downfall I would say is the bathroom - it was not very clean and wasn't a great way to end lunch!

We went to the Dutch Wooden Shoe Cafe for the first time this morning, and will definitely be going back. It's got a very cool, homemade style of decor inside, and that just adds to the charm - photos all over the walls of past diners, a huge collection of beer glasses and mugs from around the world, and lots of posters of Holland and the like. It's certainly not boring!
The server was a dream, too - genuinely friendly and happy to be there, and did an amazing job, especially considering the place was half-full and he was on his own. Coffee came fast and often, and he checked up on us three times over the course of the meal (not counting the initial food delivery and the bill drop-off).
The food itself was excellent - great quality, lots of flavour. I had one of the eggs 'n ' hash combos and my other half had the apple and cheese pannekoek - we'll definitely be going back to sample other items on the expansive menu.
Overall, we're extremely pleased with our experience, and will definitely return.

If there is a heaven, I hope to God Mon Petit Choux is the caterer. I'm pretty sure I could easily live out the rest of my natural life at a table in the corner - and easily slip into the next life completely satisfied.
Why is it so divine, you ask? Well, for starters it's a French bakery and that's just about all you need to know. These people can do things with pastries that will make you forget you ever knew of the word diet - seriously look at the pictures!
I started with the quiche, moved onto this divine pizza pastry, tried just about all of my friends pastries and finished off with a cappuccino. Then I went back to my hotel room and slept off the carb sins.
I did not repent, nor do I ever plan to.
One small word of warning for people with allergies though. The kitchen is not separate from the dining room and the air is filled with flour and sugar. Within 15 min of being inside my eyes were itchy and watering - but my companions who don't have allergies were fine.
Oh, and we smelled like pastries for the rest of the day - which isn't necessarily a bad thing :-)
