Last week our Directors and some Staff had a great time at the Ontario Mutuals Convention. Convention week is always a highlight of the year! Last week, we hosted the 5th Annual AGM for AXIOM Mutual. It was a great afternoon celebrating the successes of 2024 as well as acknowledging the retirement of our long-serving Director, Bill Gibson. Bill has been a Director since 1999 when he joined the Hay Mutual Board. He has served as Chair a number of times and we are thankful for his dedication to the Mutuals and his leadership over the years. Bill has been instrumental in navigating our heritage companies through the amalgamation, as well as his involvement with our Director’s Cut initiative. We will miss his wisdom and wish Bill nothing but the best as he enjoys more time farming and with his family! We are thankful for the dedicated group of Directors we have that make up the Axiom Mutual Board and we are all looking forward to the year ahead! #mutualinsurance #ontariomutuals #AGM

It is hard to believe that 2024 is coming to a close. Earlier this month we celebrated the closing of a chapter here at Axiom Mutual. We celebrated one of our Agents, Paula Dunn as she is set to retire at the end of 2024. Many of our office staff, Directors and Agents came to celebrate Paula and pay tribute to her career here with us. We even had a special guest join us, former Hay Agent, Don Weigand whom Paula took over from upon his retirement. We are thankful for Paula's years of dedication to our company but most importantly, her Members. Her passion for their needs and ensuring a positive customer experience is second to none. We wish Paula all the best as she moves into this next chapter, we wish her health and happiness and more time spent with her growing family! Last week we were invited to join forces with one of our Broker Partners, McFarlan Rowlands Insurance Brokers Inc to support the WOMEN'S RURAL RESOURCE CENTRE OF STRATHROY&AREA. We are proud to support our communities and our Members by giving back to important organizations such as WRRC!

That's a WRAP! Our Director's Cut 2024 project has officially come to a close. Our inaugural year using our company-owned 40 acres had its challenges, but we were still able to make a generous donation to our local area food banks! We would like to thank our lead partner in this project Hensall Co-op. As a member-owned company they share similar values to our own. Also to Nufarm for their donation towards supporting our 2024 soybean crop. We would like to thank our Agents and Staff, for their contributions to this project. We hope they all feel a sense of ownership in this endeavor because every dollar and stone picked is a HUGE help. We want to thank our Directors not only for their initial vision of this project, but also their commitment and the use of their equipment, labour, time and farming expertise. This project could not have happened without them! Thank you to Scott Miller for visiting us earlier this week to help us tell our story, and more importantly, emphasize the importance of helping our area food banks as the need for these facilities continues to rise. Last, but certainly not least, we want to thank all of our area food banks for the work that they do throughout the year especially this time during the Holiday Season. Special acknowledgement to our three area food banks Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre Ailsa Craig & Area Foodbank & Thrift Store and The Salvation Army Strathroy. Our Communities THANK YOU! Axiom Mutual was able to give nearly $40,000 to our chosen food banks this year, along with $5000 to cover the outstanding input costs not covered by third party donations for the project. In total, since our first year of the Director's Cut back in 2021, we've donated over $78,000 to our food banks! As a proud Member of the Ontario Mutual Insurance Association and Ontario Mutuals it's in our DNA to give back to our communities! Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting at Group meeting of our fellow Mutuals. These meetings are a time for us to gather and celebrate our achievements and also collaborate through the challenges. We want to thank our Keynote Speaker, Andrew Campbell, Fresh Air Farmer from Utensil, for bringing us some food for thought about Agriculture and the role of the Insurance Company as part of the farm business operation. Thank you again to our fellow "Group A" partners who joined us in London, Kent & Essex Mutual Insurance Company, Lambton Mutual Insurance Company, Maple Mutual Insurance, Salus Mutual Insurance Company, Westminster Mutual Insurance Company and Yarmouth Mutual Insurance. Also thank you to the representatives from Ontario Mutual Insurance Association and Farm Mutual Re who also were in attendance. For homeowners welcoming spooky visitors tonight, here are some handy tips:  🎃 Keep your entry way clear - costumes can compromise sight lines and can get caught on extra clutter  🎃 Keep the Lights on - Turn on exterior lighting for steps and pathways (of course turn them off if you aren't wanting visitors, or if you run out of treats)  🎃 Remove Debris - slippery leaves, sticks, outdoor furniture, children's toys etc  🎃 Keep pets inside - Not all animals enjoy Halloween as much as we do!
